MMC 2 & 3

  • After the resounding success of MMC 1, held last year, we are holding MMC 2 and 3 in April next
  • The Moulding Model Citizens(MMC) Programme is a novel initiative of CGOA which has been welcomed by parents and students alike.  

What is its purpose?

  •  To give  them a headstart in the life-skills by listening to experienced professionals and administrators
  • To expose them to a variety of topics of interest and mould them into a well rounded personality.
  • To network a set of Kochi-based students to know each other in a sustained manner over a few years
  • To give them an opportunity to engage and interact with some best minds of the state 
  • To visit and know closely some strong areas of work in local centres of excellence. 
  • To know and feel our rich heritage through guided tour in our own locality 
  • To listen to the rich experiences of veterans who could be their role models in their life.
  • And so on and so forth. No tests. No Exams.

Who can join MMC2 & MMC 3 Courses?

  • Students of class 8,9,10,11,12 and 12 completed. In any stream .

When is MMC2? When is MMC3 ?

  • From  9. am to 5 pm. With breaks for tea and lunch . MMC2 April 21 to April 26. MMC3 April 27 to May 3.

 Who engages the participants?

  • Retd officers from CGOA, Faculty from universities , motivational speakers 

Where are the sessions held?

  • At CGOA Hall, Shihab Thangal Rd, Panampilly Nagar.

What is the course fee?

  • Rs 3000/- per student for MMC2 or MMC3. those attending MMS 2 can also benefit from MMC3 by paying 2500/- only (including tea, lunch, and any visits). 

 Number of seats: 

  • 40 only per season. 8 seats in MMC2 and 4 seats in MMC are already filled.

How to book your seats in advance?

  • Pl contact through WA Ananth(93884 83686) or ARS Menon( 94477 06041), giving your name, class, school, parents’ name, and contact  number. Before 14th April. 

 How to pay? 

  • The mode of payment will be advised to you after your nomination has been accepted and you become a member of MMC WA group. Payment to be made before 19thApril. 

Crystal Jubilee of Scholarship Scheme

Event at GHSS Panampilly Nagar

Crystal Jubilee of Scholarship distribution in GHSS Panampilly Nagar, spearheaded by CGOA, was celebrated on 22 January 2025 at the school premises.

Glorious 15 years

For the consecutive fifteen years, CGOA has distributed scholarships, study materials and other grants to the students of Government Higher Secondary School Panampilly Nagar. From a modest beginning as an  individual contribution of Rs.50,000 by Dr K J Mathew in 2011, it has grown to a major activity of CGOA. Now, CGOA and other donors  distribute Rs 3.95 lakh in the form of scholarships, study material and other assistance to eligible students. In order to encourage reading habits among students,  vayanakkalari (വായനക്കളരി ) has been introduced this year.

54 Scholarships ditsributed

A total of 54 scholarships were distributed during the event. The 51 sponsors comprised members and office bearers and family members of of CGOA, public figures, office bearers of PTA , many serving and retired officials and other well wishers of the school.

Mastermind behind the Scholarship scheme

Dr K J Mathew, Principal Scientist (Rtd) CMFRI  has initiated the scholarship scheme in 2011, which  attracted the attention of many individual and institutional donors and set off a process of fund flow to help the deserving students at GHSS Panampilly Nagar. Education- Our Vision

SCHOLARSHIP DISTRIBUTION- OCT 2024

The second instalment of scholarships for the current academic year for the deserving students of the Government Higher Secondary School,  Panampilly Nagar have been distributed on 25th October 2024 at the school auditorium. Thirteen of  the 51 scholarship donors were present on the occasion. A total of  54 scholarships amounting to Rs. 81,000 were presented. The picture above shows Sri Ananthanarayanan, President CGOA addressing the meeting.     CGOA gives away awards to meritorious students

    CGOA Award Function 2024

    In a function organized at the CGOA Auditorium on 24 July 2024, more than 50  Awards were distributed to the meritorious students who excelled in their academic activities. Apart from members and awardees,  many dignitaries participated in the award function.

    S Gopalakrishnan Memorial Awards

    Eleven awards were given away under this category. These awards were instituted by the CGOA founder member, the late S Gopalakrihnan's family members in his memory. Pictures below show some of the students/their parents receiving the awards

    CGOA merit awards are distributed for the achievements made by the members and family members

    CGOA Endowment Awards

    CGOA Endowment Awards are instituted by senior members of the Association through the corpus funds donated by them. These include Dr K J Mathew Endowment Award, Dr Vasu Sugunan Endowment Awards, and Vimala & Induchoodan Endowment Awards.

    Scholarships

    Scholarships for XII distributed at GHSS Panampilly Nagar

      

    CGOA distributed scholarships, text books, note books and umbrellas to the Class XI students of Government School, Panampilly Nagar. The ceremony was organized at 2.30 PM on 16th August 2024 at the school auditorium.  Scholarships and study material were sponsored by members of CGOA and well wishes of the Association.   Earlier, scholarships for classes 8, 9, 10 and 12 were distributed on 11th of June. A total of 12 Scholarships and 27 gift coupons  (for study material) were presented. 


    Scholarships were shared by (6 each) students of Class XI Commerce and Humanities.  Gift coupons were given  to 14 students from Class XI Commerce and to 13 students from Class XI Humanities.


    The sponsors are: well wishers of CGOA (viz., 1 Ms. M. S. Jaya, IAS; 2. Dr. Asha Jis Paul; 3. Mr. Paul Davidson; 4. Ms. Radha Chandran; 5. Mr. Thomas Jacob; 6. Mr. M. M. Panicker; 7. Mr. Dawny George; 8. Ms. Moly John; 9. Dr. Shibu Varghese; 10. Mr. Vinod Moorthy)
